A Pair of Beomaster 1900 Receivers for Restoration: Initial Assessment of the Second One

Now for the second of the two Beomaster 1900 receivers in for restoration.

Like the first unit I started off checking if any of the indicator lamps worked when the Beomaster is powered up.

All of this Beomaster's indicator lamps are functioning.

Cosmetically it is missing the cabinet feet as is usually the case with these units.

The rubber bumpers for the control panel lid are deteriorated.

The cabinet trim veneer is not peeling anywhere but the finish is quite dull. It looks like it was possibly replaced at some point but I can't tell for sure. I will try some polish and linseed oil on it later.

The Bass, Treble and Balance slide controls on this second Beomaster 1900 are just like the first one regarding the flat bar slide for Bass and Treble but the round bar slide for Balance.

The indicator masks are in excellent condition.

The power supply bridge rectifier looks good (and original) on this unit.  It does have some replaced electrolytic capacitors already though.

This Beomaster also has some trace side mounted electrical components. The electrolytic capacitors mounted on this side must have been for convenience.

Unlike the first Beomaster 1900 unit's display/button panel mounting screws, the screws on this Beomaster are the same as other Beomaster 1900/2400 units I have worked on. The front corner screws and two, longer side screws are the brass colored, Phillips-head type screws. They also have washers.

Both Beomaster 1900 units have now been opened up and examined. They are ready for actual restoration work to begin.
