A while ago I received a Beogram 8002 from Tennessee. I was told it had suffered during moving house. It arrived double boxed in its original B&O box. Unfortunately, the platter and cartridge had not been secured prior to shipping. This caused the platter to liberate from the sub-platter. This shows how the Beogram looked after I had extracted it from the box:

Beogram 8002: A New Arrival from Tennessee
I opened it up and the MMC4 cartridge revealed itself sitting on the arm without even the protector down!
I removed the cartridge and very amazingly the cantilever was still where you would expect it, and it did not get bent! Even the diamond also still seems to be there, i.e. there is a real chance this cartridge survived!
I secured it into a Beolover MMC box
and had a look at the deck. Overall the condition is pretty good. The liberated platter seems only have made a small mark inside the Plexiglas cover...luck is part of survival...;-)
As in most Beogram 8000/8002 the aluminum panel around the platter is loose due to corroding double sided foam tape:
After this first look, I plugged the unit in and pressed start. It started moving the carriage and the platter spun. the arm found the setdown point for an LP and arm lowering was initiated. So it seems this Beogram is basically running. A good start for any restoration!
