I recently received a Beogram 8002 (5633) from Michigan for restoration. It safely arrived in a Beolover double box. I extracted it from the packaging and put it on the bench. It is in pretty nice condition, the platter has a few scuffs, but nothing dramatic. The main aluminum plate is about to fall off (to be expected at this age; the double sided tape they used is usually decayed by now), while the lid over the arms still seems to have been glued back on already (as some small glue traces at the hinge suggest):

Beogram 8002 Type 5633: First Look
The plinth corders are also in pretty nice condition:
I opened it up and found nothing worrisome. It seems largely original, which is always a good starting point for a restoration:
I extracted the functional components from the enclosure for easier access on the bench:
Then I plugged it in and pressed start. And the carriage did not move at all. A closer look revealed a slipping carriage belt. I replaced it with a new one and then the carriage started moving. A bit sluggish first, but a good sign! Seems all it needs is a bit of cleaning and new lubricants in the carriage mechanism to make this work well again. It also successfully found the run-in groove of a record, and swept the platter without record present. All good signs. This suggests that this should be a fairly uneventful restoration.
