I started working on the most recent arrival, a Beogram 4002 (5513). As usual the starting point is the arm lowering mechanism, which showed the usual hardened lubricant issues of sluggish behavior. Here is a picture of the setup:
I took out the linkages and the damper to clean and lubricate them:

After putting the mechanism back together I took care of the damper to arm linkage. The restoration of this function requires the disassembly of the sensor arm mount to get to the pivot point of this linkage (This video shows how to get to the damper to arm linkage and re-lubricate it):

After cleaning and re-lubricating with a dab of silicone grease I put everything back together and aligned the arms to be parallel. Next step: Tracking sensor.
